Alexandra M. M. Antunes (AMMA) is Assistant Professor at the Chemical Engineering Department, Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), since 2022. Her skills are the result of a strong core background in Organic Chemistry, combined with industry/academia R&D experience, which provided additional solid and unique expertise in Chemical Toxicology and Analytical tools. She obtained her PhD in Organic Chemistry in 2003 and subsequently joined the Pharmaceutical Company BIAL, as the responsible for the NMR facilities. Since 2008, she has been a researcher at Centro de Química Estrutural (CQE), where she established her research line in Chemical Toxicology, under the scope of Ciência, IFCT and CEEC individual grants. In 2014, she was awarded with the CEFIC-LRI AWARD, one of Europe’s largest research grants for early career toxicologists, and in 2017 she cofounded the startup company Clarify Analytical.
